Colombian DJ Natalia París is feeling on top of the world. París, 49, shared a reel of herself wearing a tiny string bikini as she did a headstand on a beautiful sandy beach, with blue skies and sea in the background. "I'm head over heels with joy!" she captioned the post celebrating her new song 'Mamacita'. How does she stay so fit? París makes conscious choices about where her meat comes from. "I don't eat red meat or mass-raised chicken," she says. "I only eat organic, free-range chicken. I always read the labels of processed foods and rule out anything that contains monosodium glutamate, aspartame, and iodized salt. I choose the healthiest, the most natural."
París takes her workout regimen seriously, and stays active even when she's not in the gym. "I go to the gym every day except Sunday," she says. "I do half an hour of cardio and then some toning work, but with very little weight… For the legs I always recommend choosing the stairs before the elevator. You have to climb the steps two by two and press as much as you can. And every time you remember your bad posture, sink your stomach in and squeeze hard, really hard!"
París drinks tomato and radish juice when she feels in need of a health and energy boost. "For their size, radishes are a good source of vitamin C, an antioxidant that may fight cellular damage that can lead to cancer and other diseases," says the Mayo Clinic. "They are full of fiber but low in calories."
París allows herself indulgences (within reason) on the weekends. "Weekends are for breaking the diet, resting, reading books, sleeping, connecting with nature, and so on," she says. "But always try to choose rich and healthy things; instead of eating a milk ice cream full of sugar and calories, choose a fruit palette. You will notice the exercise that you did in the week calms the desire for sweets… I love ice cream, but I leave it for the weekends. A little ice cream every now and then doesn't hurt."
París works out for health and strength over mere appearance. "My body is my temple," she says. "I am fully aware of the food I give it. I avoid the artificial and I exercise a lot. For me it is sacred. Exercise keeps me active, strong, and healthy. My body is not perfect, but I accept it that way, with its imperfections."
